


I have been messing about switching between Monthly and Semi-Annual updates on a test machine with GPO and the only way I can get it to change between the two is to force an update (either through the software itself or through running "OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user" from a command prompt) So the main question is how do others out there manage O365 Pro Plus updates in an RDS (or VDI, which may have similar issues) environment?Īt a more general level, the whole update process seems to be a "magic box" - I am unsure what triggers it! There are various scheduled tasks, but I am unsure what they are for. However, we run RDS and that is more of a concern since I would typically do updates during downtime, usually a weekend. I'm not overly concerned about desktops/laptops and them receiving their updates, given they're not a shared environment. We are in the throws of testing Office 365 Pro Plus (ultimately upgrading from Office 2010) - the update process for this is very different being C2R (click to run) and can't be managed via WSUS.
